Podere il Cocco has been owned by the Bindi family since 1700. Initially, the estate entrusted sharecroppers to manage the lands, though in 1955, Giovanni Bindi dedicated himself to the restoration of the fields and the cultivation of the vineyards for family use. Today, the property is managed by Giovanni’s great-grandson, Giacomo, who has committed himself to making wines that speak to their origin, while respecting the land in which they were grown. The estate utilizes the principles of or organic and biodynamic farming, having been certified since 2000.

Il Cocco's Brunello di Montalcino is fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats for 25 days, before it is aged for a minimum of three years in a combination of French, Slavonian and Austrian oak. This Brunello displays a deep ruby color with garnet reflections. Incredibly intense and generous on the nose, the wine offers soaring aromas of spiced red fruits and dried flowers. On the palate, il Cocco's Brunello possesses an intriguing juxtaposition of elegance and power. The attack is full and robust, showcasing pure red fruits that persist through a mid-palate balanced by well-integrated tannins. The finish is complex and persistent. Wonderfully drinkable today, this wine has the ability to age for the next 10+ years in a proper cellar. An excellent pairing for wild game and roasted red meats, but perfectly suitable accompanying an assortment of hard, aged cheeses.
