Domaine Dugois was founded in 1973 when Daniel Dugois bought 2 hectares of vineyards and a house equipped with vaulted wine cellars in Les Arsures, the village of his birth. For nearly a decade, Daniel — a self-taught farmer and vigneron — sold his harvest to larger Jura estates, though in 1982, he set out on his own and vinified his first harvest. With the help of his wife, Monique, Daniel continued to improve upon their wines’ quality and initially, the Dugois wines were sold regionally. In 2006, their son Philippe came aboard, first taking charge of the winemaking, then managing the entire estate in 2013. Along with his wife, Melanie, who joined him in 2014. Philippe has committed the Domaine to sustainable agricultural practices under the HVE certification program. In 2019, the Domaine embraced the challenge of transitioning to NOP certification, which should be attributed in 2022.

Dugois' Vin Jaune — 100% Savagnin — is aged for six years in barrel under a voile, similar to a sherry's flor. Deep gold in the glass, this Vin Jaune exhibits notes of dried white fruits, gingered almonds and umami on the nose. The palate is bone-dry, nutty and rich with flavors of pear mixed with a sherried eartiness that last through to its long, concentrated finish. Enjoy with a plate of soft cheese and spiced nuts, smoked fish or curried dishes.
