Alcesti - Isola del Satiro - Bianco 2023
Alcesti is a family-owned and operated winery located in Marsala in the Trapani growing region of Sicily. Today, The estate is run by Gianfranco Paladino, who handles everything from winemaking to logistics. Gianfranco's parents help in the vineyards and his sister, Valeria, covers administration. For decades, the Paladino family sold off their grapes to larger wineries in the region, though this changed when Gianfranco took the reins. In 2002, the family completed construction of their own winery and produced their first vintage the following year. The property is comprised of 30 hectares of vines that are farmed organically (certified). Harvest is done manually and fermentation and aging are done in stainless steel. The Paladinos are a family who love their land and their origins and have chosen to honor the splendid Sicilian terroir through their honestly crafted wines.
Alcesti's Isola del Satiro Bianco — a beautiful blend of Catarratto and Grecanico — leaps out of the glass with soaring aromas of melon and citrus fruits coupled with freshly cut flowers.
