Whether it is his Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays or Cabernets, anytime you see the Chad label you know that you are getting a wine that punches above its weight. The cuvées and sources change almost every year, but that’s what makes Chad special: He has a nose for the deals, no matter if the fruit is from Sonoma, Napa, Santa Barbara or the Willamette. Chad has worked closely with many wineries on the west coast, where he has an almost preternatural talent for knowing which top vineyards and producers have extra fruit they need to unload. 

The 2022 Chad Cabernet Sauvignon is a textbook representation of Sonoma County, sourced from a couple of parcels in Knights Valley. Mid-purple in the glass with ruby highlights, the Chad Cabernet emits lovely aromas of kirsch, blackberry liqueur, vanilla, pepper and baked black cherries. The palate is full-bodied and rich with soft, mouth-coating tannins and lively energy that balances with the beautiful purity of fruit. Those dark fruit flavors combine with notes of warming spices to coalesce into a long, dense and decadent finish. A beautiful example of Sonoma Cabernet and a treat for all those who love ripe, expressive, full-bodied wines. Enjoy with a burger smothered in blue cheese and caramelized onions with spiced tomato ketchup.
