The Paquet family has owned properties in Burgundy since the early 1950's. Agnès Paquet took over the vineyards and set up her Domaine in 2000 after completing her wine business studies in Beaune. The estate is located in the remote village of Meloisey, in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune right near the village of Auxey-Duresses. She conducts every aspect of the winemaking process, from vine to bottle. The micro-production of her wines, combined with her status as a darling of France's three Michelin Star "Somms" (from the restaurants of Alain Ducasse, Anne-Sophie Pic and Joël Robuchon) allows us to realize how lucky we are to feature these beautiful wines.
Agnès Paquet's Bourgogne Blanc is made from 100% Chardonnay, fermented and aged in oak barrels. The wine shows a brilliant gold color in the glass with intoxicating aromas of baked apples, brioche, lemon custard and persimmon. On the palate, this fantastic Bourgogne Blanc delivers incredible fruit purity with a creamy texture balanced by lively acidity. The finish is well-defined with great length and freshness. There's plenty of richness to the wine, though Agnès does an amazing job delivering an electric energy that permeates throughout, from the first smell to last sip. Perfect to enjoy with grilled corn, peppers and scallops, or garlic-ginger chicken, though it is just as tempting to pop a cork and enjoy on its own!
