The Judean Hills rise sharply above the coastal plain, exhibiting ideal conditions for growing wine grapes. The man-made terraces hug the rugged terrain; criss-crossing vineyards follow the contours of these steep slopes. And nestled in the heart of these hills is Tzora Vineyards. The wines of Tzora reflect the Judean Hills' unique terroir. Cold winters, sharp temperature drops during the short summer nights and early morning summer mists — as well as variations in soils from rocky limestone outcrops to ones rich in minerals — all contribute to the character, the balance and the great longevity of the wines.
Tzora's Judean Hills is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Merlot grown throughout the estate's different vineyards on old terraces with top soils of limestone, rich in minerals. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. This wine pours a deep red in color as aromas of black berry fruits and a touch of earth waft from the glass. The dark black fruits are revisited on the palate where the wine showcases fine structure and complexity. The Judean Hills rouge is wonderfully textured with a finish that is fine and lengthy.
