Azienda Agricola Tiberini is a family artisanal estate located in Podere Caggiole, just outside the historic city Montepulciano, in Tuscany where the family has been producing wine for six generations. Since 1985, the vineyards have been farmed organically, dedicated to only local grapes: Prugnolo Gentile (the local clone of Sangiovese), Canaiolo, Mammolo, Colorino, Malvasia, Trebbiano and Pulcinculo. Proprietor Luca Tiberni sums up the estate's philosophy the best: "The respect and the attention we pay to each of our individual vines, it means having the ability to protect and harvest a fruit of great potential, which can grow strong and full of its own soul. We believe that the vineyard is the secret of our satisfaction, not only because of our winemaking tradition, but especially because of our way of living. We feel the call to participate in the evolution of our generations and we put all our enthusiasm and passion to take the good from the past and look to new horizons.”
The Tiberini Vino Nobile de Montepulciano is a blend of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Mammolo aged in French oak barrels of varying size. In the glass, the wine shows a lovely ruby red color with garnet and violet highlights. Aromas of fresh plums, red cherries and raspberries combined with leather, spice and tobacco undertones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with rich, mouthcoating tannins and an invigorating acidity that flow into a persistent and complex finish. Enjoy with grilled red meats.
