Easkoot Cellars is named after Alfred Derby Easkoot, a sailor and the first land surveryor in Marin, California. Mr. Easkoot initially surveyed the land where the vines are planted that made the Foggy Bottom Pinot Noir. The winery is located in the Petaluma Gap where the fog rolls in at night and cools down vines and grapes to produce an old-worldly style of Pinot Noir with a tangy and animating yet complex and expressive character.
Foggy Bottom’s Willow Camp is 100% Cabernet Franc from the volcanic soils of Mount Konocti in Lake County's Red Hills Lake AVA. The wine pours a deep ruby red color, offering a blend of ripe berry and stone fruits mixed with earth and spice. On the full-bodied palate, flavors of ripe plum and macerated red berries coalesce with notes of earth and baking spice. The finish is soft, structured and minutes-long. Delicious with grilled or roasted meats, hearty stews or rich, tomato-based dishes.
