Podere il Cocco has been owned by the Bindi family since 1700. Initially, the estate entrusted sharecroppers to manage the lands, though in 1955, Giovanni Bindi dedicated himself to the restoration of the fields and the cultivation of the vineyards for family use. Today, the property is managed by Giovanni’s great-grandson, Giacomo, who has committed himself to making wines that speak to their origin, while respecting the land in which they were grown. The estate utilizes the principles of or organic and biodynamic farming, having been certified since 2000.
Podere il Cocco's Rosso di Montalcino is selected after their Brunello has aged for one year in French, Slavonian and Austrian oak. This Rosso exhibits a deep and intense ruby red in the glass with bright reflections. Aromas of spiced red berry fruits tinged with vanilla and anise tantalize the senses. The palate is bright and fresh, offering an abundance of red fruits (cherry, cranberry, pomegranate) that is buoyed by an uplifting acidity and textured tannins. The finish lingers with notes of earth and spice. Perfect for homemade pasta topped with a beef ragù, but can be delightfully paired with cured meats and cheeses or pizza night.
