Brand Domaine Agnès Paquet
Origin France, Burgundy

The Paquet family has owned properties in Burgundy since the early 1950's. Agnès Paquet took over the vineyards and set up her Domaine in 2000 after completing her wine business studies in Beaune. The estate is located in the remote village of Meloisey, in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune right near the village of Auxey-Duresses. She conducts every aspect of the winemaking process, from vine to bottle. The micro-production of her wines, combined with her status as a darling of France's three Michelin Star "Somms" (from the restaurants of Alain Ducasse, Anne-Sophie Pic and Joël Robuchon) allows us to realize how lucky we are to feature these beautiful wines.

Auxey-Duresses is located in the Côte de Beaune between and above Volnay, Monthélie and Meursault at the entrance to a side valley that leads into the village of Saint-Romain and the Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Agnès' vines are located in the Les Hoz lieu-dit on her family's original 5 hectares of vines planted in 1950 and 2000. The 100% Pinot Noir Auxey-Duresses rouge pours a striking, translucent ruby color. Aromas of small red berry fruits explode from the glass mingled with subtle notes of earth and underbrush. On the palate the wine is fresh, vibrant and juicy with lively acidity and compact, integrated tannins. Flavors of alpine strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate cascade across your mouth in a long, concentrated wave that flow into a persistent, subtle finish. Agnés' Auxey-Duresses rouge is direct and delicious, showcasing an exquisite balance of fruit and earth flavors. Enjoy with seared duck breast or rack of lamb.
