Redentore Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso 2021
The De Stefani family have been making wines in Veneto since 1866, with fourth generation winemaker Alessandro in charge today. The estate was originally located in Refrontolo, between the two famous Prosecco villages Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, before Alessandro's father moved it to Fossalta di Piave. The estate consists of forty hectares planted on the clay soils of an old river plain. The estate is organic (soon to be certified) and vineyard and cellar work is conducted as naturally as possible: use of indigenous yeasts for fermentation, no added sulfur during vinification, no animal products and 100% renewable energy to power the cellar.
Redentore's Refosco pours an intense ruby red in the glass, offering deep aromas of dark berry fruits accented with notes of anise and sandalwood. The palate is full-bodied and packed with ripe plum and blackberry flavors marked with a hint of bittersweet chocolate. This pleasing red is supported by soft tannins and moderate acidity with a finish that is warm and long-lasting. Enjoy with grilled vegetables, dark-meat chicken and hearty meat dishes.
