Château de Quinçay is a family estate located on the southern hillsides of the Cher river in Meusnes in the heart of the Loire Valley. The winery was established in 1860 by General Charles Cadart who inherited the property and became a winemaker after retiring from the army. Today, Château de Quinçay is run by the sixth generation of the family who farm 30 hectares of vines grown on flint-rich soils in the Touraine and Valençay appellations. While environmental conservation is a primary concern — the vineyards are managed using sustainable viticulture (certified Terra Vitis) — the Cadart family's driving force is to preserve the traditions of the region and the passion and spirit of the family business.
The Quinçay Le Chêne Rond Valençay is an 80/20 blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, pouring a pale gold in the glass. This wine exhibits soaring aromas of citrus-bathed white orchard fruits mixed with notes of white flowers and crushed stone. A delightful combination of chalky minerality and mouth-watering acidity provide a perfect runway for flavors of green apples and preserved lemon to guide you to a seemingly endless finish. Enjoy with braised lemon-garlic chicken or baked pike topped with mango salsa.
