Liquid Farm — the project of Jeff Nelson and winemaker James Sparks — began in 2009 with the production of just four barrels of wine. Focused primarily on Chardonnay, Liquid Farm aims to craft cool-climate wines reminiscent of the Old-World classics with fruit from the top vineyard sites in the Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley AVA's of Santa Barbara County, California. The name Liquid Farm symbolizes the journey of wine from vineyard to glass: liquid from farming. The wines are made with minimal intervention, little to no new oak and no additives or machines to manipulate the final product.
Liquid Farm's Golden Slope Chardonnay sits in the glass a medium gold color. A gentle swirl releases an incredible bouquet of ripe orchard fruits accented with a touch of citrus blossom and a smoky whisper. The palate provides exquisite richness and an abundance of flavor — Golden Delicious apples, pear nectar, lemon curd and a hint of spice — balanced by vibrant acidity and a slight chalky minerality. This Chardonnay finishes long, bright and complex, delivering a seamless drinking experience. Wonderful with seafood or poultry... Try with fish and chips, pan-seared halibut or Chicken Française.
