Domaine Dugois was founded in 1973 when Daniel Dugois bought 2 hectares of vineyards and a house equipped with vaulted wine cellars in Les Arsures, the village of his birth. For nearly a decade, Daniel — a self-taught farmer and vigneron — sold his harvest to larger Jura estates, though in 1982, he set out on his own and vinified his first harvest. With the help of his wife, Monique, Daniel continued to improve upon their wines’ quality and initially, the Dugois wines were sold regionally. In 2006, their son Philippe came aboard, first taking charge of the winemaking, then managing the entire estate in 2013. Along with his wife, Melanie, who joined him in 2014. Philippe has committed the Domaine to sustainable agricultural practices under the HVE certification program. In 2019, the Domaine embraced the challenge of transitioning to NOP certification, which should be attributed in 2022.

Dugois' Vin de Paille — a delicious blend of Chardonnay, Trousseau, Savagnin, Poulsard — sits a deep golden color in the glass. The wine displays rich, sherried aromas of stone fruit, sweet citrus, beewax and salted nuts. On the palate, flavors of candied orange peel and quince paste are balanced with a touch of bright acidity, all enveloped in a satiny texture that carries you to a satisfyingly honied finish.
