Viña Sastre is a family-run winery located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero D.O., owning some of the oldest vineyards in the region. Jesús Sastre is the winemaker and vineyard manager, whose philosophies and winemaking talents have been a driving force of the winery. The estate is committed to organic and biodynamic agricultural principles. Their prime vineyard sites are situated in the Burgos area of Ribera del Duero, where they have been a reference estate, producing some of the most sought after wine in the region.
The Viña Sastre Pesus is the family wine, only made in the most outstanding vintages, with hand-harvested grapes that are vinified with the utmost care in a custom made stainless steel tank and aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels. A blend of Tempranillo with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, the full-bodied ripe, concentrated wine is one of the treasures of Spain.
