Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine was established in 1879; five generations later, it is managed by Christine Gruère-Dubreuil and her husband, Nicolas Gruère. Suberb winemaking tradition and an intense love of their land has enabled the estate to rise to epic status, using the family motto, “Pleasure and passion carry on…” as a guideline for success. This family has spent over a century chasing perfection, and that fact is beautifully evident in each new vintage from this unforgettable estate.
The Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge is made from 100% Pinot Noir that is all destemmed, fermented in stainless steel and aged 12-15 months in a mix of stainless steel and oak barrels, 15% of which are new. In the glass, the wine shows a light garnet red with a ruby rim. The nose is delicate, with red berries mingling with soft hints of rose petal and spice. The palate showcases the wine's depth and complexity. The red berry fruits and roses are layered with a touch of earth and a fine minerality, all of which are supported by its firm acidity and soft tannic structure. The finish is clean and smooth with subtle, dark fruit flavors carrying the wine throughout its gorgeous length. Enjoy with lamb skewers served with roasted vegetables and mushrooms.
