The Paquet family has owned properties in Burgundy since the early 1950's. Agnès Paquet took over the vineyards and set up her Domaine in 2000 after completing her wine business studies in Beaune. The estate is located in the remote village of Meloisey, in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune right near the village of Auxey-Duresses. She conducts every aspect of the winemaking process, from vine to bottle. The micro-production of her wines, combined with her status as a darling of France's three Michelin Star "Somms" (from the restaurants of Alain Ducasse, Anne-Sophie Pic and Joël Robuchon) allows us to realize how lucky we are to feature these beautiful wines.
Agnès’ Auxey-Duresses Blanc is a stunning example of the quality and value that can still be found in the Côte de Beaune. The Chardonnay grapes come from a five-hectare parcel of 90-year-old vines in the lieu-dit Le Hoz that the Paquet family has been farming since 1950! Aromas of ripe orchard and citrus fruits accompanied by an underlying minerality enticingly waft from the glass. On the palate, there is plenty of tension and freshness to balance with the creamy texture and concentration of intense fruit and complex mineral flavors, all of which lead into a finish with great depth and persistence. This is a fantastic wine at an unbelievable value that will excite any lover of white Burgundy!
